Preparation Before Arrival

Students should make sure about the following points before leaving their home country

  • You must have a valid passport and a valid student visa obtained from the Indian Embassy / High Commission.

  • Make sure that you have taken all the required vaccinations like Yellow Fever, Typhoid Vaccine, Hepatitis Vaccine, etc. to avoid medical complications while you are in India.

  • Any Money that you bring along must be converted to US Dollars only, before boarding your flight.

  • Here the winter season starts around November until March so the warm material (blankets, quilts, woolens, etc.) must be brought accordingly. The summer season is from April to June, Rainy season from July to September and Autumn from October to November.

  • Make sure you inform your Edudite Counsellor for the Airport pickup at least one week prior to arrival and provide the complete details of flight.

  • If you land at New Delhi Airport and have opted for airport pickup from Edudite, your pickup cab would be waiting at Arrival Gate No. 5 with a placard of your name.

  • All airports in India offer free Wi-Fi upto 30 minutes, which you can connect to, in order to communicate with your arrival buddy from Edudite. (*Note : Your sim card must be working in order to connect to Wi-Fi, since it requires an OTP)

  • In case, you cannot connect to Wi-Fi, please use the Airtel Phone Booths, available at the airport gates to call your arrival buddy.

  • At all times you must carry a slip with the name and contact number of your arrival buddy from Edudite, in case your phone stops working or gets drained of battery.

  • Whilst everything is available in India, however try to get all that you would require during the initial few days. All the essentials can be availed from the markets available around a range of 5 km from University Campus.

  •  The electric standard in India works on 240 V. So, ensure that you have an adapter for your mobile or laptop if it operates on a different voltage in your country. Also the electric sockets are 2 or 3 round -pin so ensure that you carry a converter in case required.

 

Documents to Carry

  • Make sure that you bring the Admission Letter issued by the University along with all the Certificates/Degrees and Transcripts (in original) and payment receipts.

  • Minimum 15 passport size professional photos with white background.

  • Xerox copies of your passport, visa and all academic documents - minimum 5 each.

  • Last 6 months bank account statement of parents/sponsor.
